Mitaki is made up of two parts. Mitaki Honmachi and Mitakimachi. Just west of the Ota River, nuzzled in the mountains lies the Mitaki Honmachi area, while Mitakimachi is closer to Yokogawa station and to town.

Mitaki emits a small town vibe while not putting you too far out from central Hiroshima. Mitaki Honmachi comes equipped with a JR station and just two stops separate it from Hiroshima station. For the more outdoorsy residents, Mitaki is within cycling range (I’d reckon a 15 to 20 minute ride) to downtown.

The Ota River and forestry mountains surround the diverse buildings and the narrow streets that separate them. Mitaki is considered one of the more beautiful areas in Hiroshima and is the perfect compromise for those who are having a hard time deciding between the city and country life.

Here are a few places we think are cool!

Mitaki Temple

411 Mitakiyama, Nishi Ward, Hiroshima City

This is a Hiroshima hidden gem that we urge everyone living locally to visit. Truly a beautiful place that one can easily spend an entire afternoon hanging out .

Hopping Mushroom

Address: 811 Mitaki Cho, Naka Ward, Hiroshima City

A friendly neighborhood trampoline park located in Mitaki Cho near Yokogawa station. If you are feeling blue or looking to embrace your inner child, a bounce around at the Hopping Mushroom may be just what the doctor ordered.

Popular Properties

One popular residence for decades in the Mitaki Honmachi area is the Rokkabare-na complex. Housing 3 and 4 bedroom locations, foreigner and pet friendly, it is your perfect location for getting the country side feel right by the city.

The unique designer created the hallways to be just as relaxing as the insides.

Four stories and built to last, this gem is just a 5 minute walk from the Mitaki JR station right behind the beautiful Mitaki Green Chapel.

Mitaki Honmachi hits the bullseye for nature lovers that want to work in the city. It is the perfect mix of the country and the city.
