Ujina is a port side neighborhood located in Minami-Ku on the south side of Hiroshima. Devoured by the Hiroshima sprawl, Ujina feels very much a part of Hiroshima City and offers all of the convenience one would expect in a city. Best known for its port, Ujina provides ferry access to a variety of locations in Hiroshima Prefecture. Hiroden (street trains) and bus access are available for use. With my bicycle wheels, Ujina is not more than a pleasant twenty minute bike ride down town.

If you plan on traveling by Sea, Ujina port is where you want to be. Travelers are able to travel by ferries or by Super Jet Ferry (smaller and faster boat) to Kure, Matsuyama, Miyajima as well as other locations. This is a great option to save some time and have some fun on the way.

Milky Iron Man’s Oyster Cabin (ミルキー鉄男のがんがん焼き）

Step inside the sea side tent restaurant, take a seat on a bucket, put on some gloves and start grilling up some oysters Japanese style. This place is a seasonal treat and worth going to at least once a year. This is as fresh as it gets.

 

Honoyu Onsen
