Miyajima is a beautiful, sacred, and internationally recognized place to visit. The island is packed with temples, shrines, delicious food, and shopping. That being said, there is a lot more to do on the island if you choose to travel off the beaten path.
On the backside of Miyajima, travelers can enjoy the beach, lodges, and a nature park called Tsutsumigaura Nature Park. The beach its self is beautiful and offers a clear view of Hiroshima city off into the distance.
There are lodges available to stay at, a place to grab some food, and even an onsen available to relax and clean up after a dip in the Seto Sea.
Then there is the nature park itself. There is a large grass area where a large population of semi-domesticated deer wandering the grass fields.
